Adoption Practice

NRG provides knowledgeable and compassionate service in both adoption law and assisted reproduction law. NRG's clients consist of adoptive parents, birth parents, intended parents, surrogates, egg donors, embryo donors and sperm donors.

Personal Attention In A Personal Area Of Law

NRG’s attorney’s take great pride in their work, make themselves readily accessible, and perform all services with great attention to detail and the highest degree of ethics.

Domestic Adoptions

Domestic adoptions usually have a number of different parties involved in the adoption process. The birthmother (or in some cases both the birthmother and the birthfather) makes a parenting plan for her child, based on love for her child and an awareness of the awesome task and responsibility of parenting a child. This parenting plan involves personally and carefully selecting adoptive parents who are ready, willing and able to provide a loving and nurturing environment for the child.

Because of the unique nature of the adoption experience, for both the birthmother and the adoptive parents, we place a great deal of emphasis on counseling and education for both parties.

For adoptive parents, we strongly encourage them to complete an adoption pre-placement home study with a licensed adoption agency serving their geographic area. In addition to confirming their fitness to parent, a pre-placement home study provides invaluable education regarding the adoption process, including the ongoing relationships involved in today's open adoption settings.

For birthmothers, NRG places a strong emphasis on counseling, to assist with the multitude of emotions and decisions inherent in making a good adoption plan and then carrying it through to completion.
